CARE FOR GOD’S CREATION

The world that God created has been entrusted to all of us. Our stewardship of the earth is a form of participation in God’s act of creating and sustaining the world. In our use of creation, we must be guided by a concern for generations to come. We show our respect for the Creator by our care for creation.

The children have been learning about the Creation story and how God put humans on Earth to look after his Creation. They focused on the Nicene Creed’s words “I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, maker of Heaven and Earth” and worked in groups to create artistic representations of the Creed. They listened to Pope Francis’ Laudato Si’ and reflected on what actions harm the Earth, and what actions help the Earth. They have put their learning into action by making bird houses, litter picking, making posters encouraging others to care for the world, and spreading kindness wherever they go.
